Amrize is rolling out a “Made in Canada” label across its plants from Richmond, British Columbia and Exshaw, Alberta to Bath, Ontario and Brookfield, Nova Scotia.
Following the Competition Bureau of Canada guidelines, the label confirms the Amrize cement is manufactured in Canada with over 90% Canadian content inside. Amrize’s Saint-Constant plant in the Montreal area will carry the official ‘Manufactured in Québec’ designation administered by Les Produits du Québec.
“We are proud to be Canada’s largest cement manufacturer and this label reflects our commitment to serving Canada’s builders as a true local partner, offering Canadian-made quality, supporting local jobs and communities,” said Cory Cannon, senior vice president, Canada Cement Commercial, Amrize. “As Canada invests in its future from critical infrastructure, energy and industry to transportation and housing, locally produced materials are more essential than ever. Our label offers customers a single, consistent standard for high performance and reliability, backed by Amrize’s national scale and local service.”
Amrize’s “Made in Canada” label comes as the Government of Canada commits $51 billion over the next decade through its Building Communities Strong Fund to support public infrastructure, including transit, healthcare facilities, and essential services for new housing.
As Canada invests in its future, Amrize is investing to expand production capacity and modernize cement operations. Most recently, the company broke ground on the modernization of its cement plant outside Montreal, the largest investment in the Canadian cement industry over the last decade.
With a legacy of building Canada for more than 100 years, Amrize has helped shape many of the country’s most recognizable landmarks – from iconic sites like the Rogers Centre in Toronto, the Confederation Bridge linking Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick, the Samuel de Champlain Bridge in Montreal, and essential infrastructure including major hub airports in Vancouver, Calgary and Montréal.
In Canada, Amrize operates from 450 sites with more than 7,500 teammates serving customers in every province.
