The Cement Association of Canada (CAC) will host a free learning event titled: “Precast Concrete for a Lower Carbon Future: An Update From Industry Experts,” alongside the Canadian Precast Concrete Institute (CPCI) and the Canadian Concrete Pipe and Precast Association in Vancouver, Canada.
The event will take place Oct. 22 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, 655 Burrard St., Room: Regency A-D (Main CPCI Exhibit Hall).
Learning objectives include:
- Understand the definitions of GHGs, embodied carbon and EPDs.
- Find, interpret, and utilize concrete precast and pipe EPDs.
- Recognize the key reduction levers accessible through designing in concrete precast and pipe and how to specify them in projects.
- Understand the differences and advantages of off-site construction using precast.
