Ash Grove Heads to the Hill to Advocate for Cement

Ash Grove representatives joined industry leaders and policymakers in Washington, D.C., for the 2026 American Cement Association (ACA) Cement Fly-In, where discussions focused on transportation infrastructure investment, domestic manufacturing, permitting reform and the importance of passing the BUILD America 250 Act before surface transportation authorization expires later this year.

Representing Ash Grove, Monica Manolas, ACA board chair and Ash Grove East Region president, participated in conversations with lawmakers on strengthening domestic supply chains, supporting cement innovation and ensuring the industry can continue meeting the nation’s growing infrastructure needs.

Along with ACA, the company advocated for:

  • Co-sponsorship of The ReCement Act — a bill introduced by U.S. Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.) The measure would support targeted Resource Conservation and Recovery Act reforms that expand the use of alternative fuels while maintaining existing environmental protections.
  • Investment in advanced cement technologies and carbon management, as the industry remains committed to decarbonization.
  • Preservation of reliable and affordable energy needed for industrial operations.
  • A strong domestic supply chain that is efficient, reduces transportation costs and ensures reliable access to materials.
